Hey there! I'm MyAsia Solomon, 30 years old ( recently married)! Whoot Whoot! I was born, raised, and am currently a resident of Philadelphia, PA. In 2011, I received my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Elizabeth City State University.
During the summer of June until August 2011, I interned at the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) in Greenbelt Maryland. Once my internship ended I had to receive emergency heart surgery due to having irregular heartbeats at 268 BPM. I was diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia.
After the 1st failed surgery, and then a second successful one, while on bed rest I vividly remember having a dream while on bed rest that I was in Cosmetology School. The next day, I decided to apply. Not knowing where it would take me, I finished Cosmetology School in 2012 and worked in a few salons before taking a break to brand and market myself.
In 2013, I decided to take a year to serve inner-city youth at Youth Build Charter school where I taught Web Design and Graphic Design to High School Drop-In Seniors. My desire has always been to focus on my passions which is using my gifts to bring glory to God while impacting and encouraging others to do the same.
In early 2014, Graphic Design became my main focus. Creating designs proficiently to help companies advertise and promote their various events and projects, including designing logos, business cards, brochures, t shirt design etc.
In the last few months of 2014, I began to seek God on leading my path towards continuing to encourage people on a daily basis while still having the opportunity to use my gifts. God spoke so clearly, and I started styling hair at Asanti Hair Studio from December 2014 until now.
In the last 4 years, I have been able to travel to style hair in different states, network with others to help continually serve in my community, and still be able to encourage others while doing what I love. I even had the chance to style hair at the same Charter School, working as a Graphic Design Instructor. Now, how awesome is that!
Along the way, in 2017, I decided to make some major health changes in losing weight. On that journey, I also discovered the leading cause of my scalp condition (seborrheic dermatitis} that I have battled with since birth. I was also able to lose more than my 20-pound goal weight and keep it off.
In just one year, I was led by God to go back to school to study Holistic Nutrition, in order to gain the wisdom and knowledge needed to help others better to take back their life and live it to the full.
June 2019, I became Certified in Holistic Nutrition (see here), and my goal is to Educate those in need on how to understand what it means to Eat to live, and then continue to Empower them on their journey towards a healthier life.
In July 2019, I became a Co-Author of a book called Woman to Woman.
In September 2019, I became a Certified Spiritual Life Coach, in order to help people find their way in life, their purpose on earth and help them birth out what's already inside of them. I'm excited about all that God has done for me.
In the future, I desire to write my first full book, and recipe book as well. In my spare time, I enjoy attending church, helping others strengthen their walks with God. I enjoy sharpening my design skills by completing online tutorials, working as a photographer, and freelance designer, cooking, and much more. My long-term goal is to help young adults find their passion while taking the necessary steps in fulfilling those dreams through personal branding. I also desire to help others create income using the gifts God has given them.
Other Things About Me
As mentioned, I also enjoy church, designing, and cooking. I am a member of God Church; The Kingdom and I am an active member and fellowship at the Greater Philadelphia Church of Christ.
I post my morning devotions daily.
I am also a freelance Graphic Designer. I design social media flyers, and event flyers, and business cards for clients at the moment.
In terms of cooking, I host a Vegan Brunch every other month alongside my husband where I get to prepare the dishes, and educate those in attendance on how they too can prepare them.
